Vi veri veniversum vivus vici voraviBy the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered and devoured the universe.

To whoever holds the keys,

What does it mean to be sovereign in the age of AI?

Vora is a philosophical company before it is a hardware company. We build Aegis, a personal AI that runs on hardware you own, but the principles came first. They were not chosen; they were compelled by that question.

We spent our careers securing Bitcoin, and one lesson survived every disaster we watched: promises fail, policies bend, and the only guarantees that hold are the ones built into the architecture itself and cryptographically proven. So what truly matters must live on hardware you own, under keys you hold. That lesson has come due for the mind.

Jesse Posner, co-founder & ceo

We draw the line at the site of cognition itself. Inward of that line, no company, no committee, and no state holds any authority at all. Your machine thinks with you, about whatever you ask of it, and answers to you alone: an intelligence bound to you the way your lawyer and your doctor are, except the binding is not law, which bends, but structure, which does not.

We hold ourselves to three principles, and to proving each of them.

Privacy. Proved by encryption, not policy.

Privacy is not a setting. A policy is a promise made by the party that profits from breaking it; encryption is a fact of mathematics. What is sealed under your key cannot be read by anyone who does not hold it: not a company, not a court, not us.

The machine that knows you cannot reach the internet, and the machine that reaches the internet never knows you.

Integrity. Proved by verification, not reputation.

Trust is what you extend when you cannot check. We would rather you check. Every line of Aegis is open, from the firmware to the model that thinks with you: read it, build it, compare the hash.

A machine you cannot inspect is asking for faith. Ours is asking to be audited.

Loyalty. Proved by keyholder control, not alignment theater.

Loyalty is a question of who holds the keys. An assistant that answers to a corporation will, on the day it matters, answer to the corporation. Aegis answers to the keyholder, and the keyholder is you: no remote kill, no silent update, no second master.

Not alignment theater, in which a model is trained to sound obedient, but the plain fact of custody.

Vora is a company with one purpose: the defense of free thought in the age of AI. Everything we build, everything we open-source, every machine we ship, exists to put the instruments of intelligence into the hands of the people who think with them, and to keep them there.

Vora Aegis on a stone shelf beside a dark curtain, a band of daylight across it and the warm line of light glowing under its burgundy top.
Vora Aegis: A machine that holds your life should look like it belongs in it.

We thought about the things someone might eventually trust Aegis with. Their memories. Their ideas. Things they’ve never shared with anyone. That responsibility is why we built dedicated security hardware into it. We want people to know that they have control over something deeply personal.

It does not phone home. It does not spy on you. It does not serve two masters. It serves you.

It is a small machine with a long line behind it.
